About This Program
Environmental Geoscience students within the Geography option learn about the physical features of the earth – including climate, soil, and landforms – and study the intersection of humans and the environment through the social and natural sciences. You will learn about the three related areas of geography: physical geography, human geography, and geospatial techniques. Physical geography deals with the processes and patterns in the natural environment, such as the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and geosphere. Human geography explores the spatial relationships between people, places, and the environment. Geospatial techniques consist of an array of tools such as geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing that collect, store, visualize, and interpret geospatial data. We use this data for applications ranging from urban planning to natural resource management. Successfully completing this degree program prepares you for careers in the private sector, state or federal agencies, education, or non-profit organizations, or you could seek advanced degrees in related graduate programs.

Cost and Length of Program
Students meeting pre-requisites for first-year courses can graduate within four years with a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Environmental Geosciences, Geography option.
